Luke 12v16-21: “Then he spoke a parable to them, saying: The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully and he thought within himself, saying, ‘what shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this; I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

You are welcome back to our discourse on “Putting God First” and we have been looking at the specific areas of our lives that we need to honor the Lord. In our discussion today, I will be sharing more on the other areas you need to put God first. Without much ado, let’s examine them right away.

AREAS TO PUT GOD FIRST IN YOUR LIFE:

4. In your time. Time is such a priceless commodity; this is why you need to make the best of it. Is God first in how you use your time? Does God have your time and do you give God the best part of your time or just any time? I want you to carefully think about this question before responding to them because this question will help you to see where God is with regards to your time.

Precious child of God, the best scenario that you can have is for God to be first in your schedule, today, and tomorrow. We usually have time for the things we value and if you truly value your relationship with God, you will give him the best part of your time (Psalm  31v15). I encourage you to do so from today so as to make the profitable use of your time.

5. In your relationships. Relationships are like bridges to your destiny; this is why you need to exercise wisdom in choosing your relationships. You smell like the company you keep and who accompanies you determines what will accompany you. Do you put God first in your relationships? Is God first in your marriage, friendships, professional associations, family etc. Do you allow God to help you in choosing your relationships or do you do so all by yourself? Your answer will divulge, to a great extent, whether you honour God in your relationships or not. My dear reader, you need to give serious consideration and thought to allowing God help you in determining whom you relate with, if you really want to accomplish your colourful destiny (2Corinthians  6v14-17). Don’t make the mistake of doing it all by yourself; engage God’s wisdom and guidance and you will never be put to shame in Jesus name, amen. As you do so from today. I see the tide changing in your favour.
