1kings3verse3-12 V3 ‘And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. V4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. V5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. V6 And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. V7 And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. v8 And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. V9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? V10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. V11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; v12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.’

You are welcome back to our discourse on provoking divine encounters! We serve a God who specializes in visiting his people in a special way. This was what happened to King Solomon in our text scripture (1Ki3v3-12). He experienced the God of divine encounters and his life never remained the same again. God is still very much in the business of touching his people in a special way and may usher you into such a kind of encounter today. My dearly beloved ones, I want you to know that you can also provoke divine encounters. So what are the things that can help you to do such a kind of thing? These are the things that I will be sharing with you in today’s lesson by his grace, and so without much ado, let’s examine these truths right away.

How to Provoke Divine Encounters

1. By seeking the face of the Lord. God will always reveal himself to whoever seeks him in spirit and in truth. In fact, he is eager to reveal himself to such a kind of person. So are you a genuine seeker or are you just a casual visitor? When you make up your mind to seek the Lord till he rains righteousness on you, I guarantee you that your life won’t remain the same again. So are you ready to seek the Lord as Hannah and Jabez did? Only seekers are guaranteed to see his face! 1Chro4v9-10: Lk2v36-37

2. By seizing the God-given opportunities around you. If you will experience divine encounters, this is one thing that you must know how to do. Opportunities of experiencing divine encounters are around you right now. The problem at times is with our perspective and positioning. This is why you need to be sensitive to such kinds of opportunities. At times these opportunities come in the form of challenges, pressure, people, task or assignment, etc. This is why you must be smart enough to see it before you can seize it. I pray for you today that God would open your eyes of understanding in seeing your God-given opportunities for your transformation. This is what the likes of Blind Bartimaeus (Mk10v46-52) and women with the issue of blood (Mk5v26-34) did that made them to experience God is a special way. Your story can also change if you are sensitive to your God-given opportunities. This is why I decree today that your moment of transformation won’t pass you by. The change that you desire will not elude you in Jesus name, amen.
