Genesis 26verse1,12-14 ‘V1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. V12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. V13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: V15 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.’
Is it possible for someone to prosper in this kind of economy? The answer is a definite Yes! It’s possible to prosper in this volatile or unstable kind of economy that we live today. God can prosper you even in the midst of the recession or famine that’s in the world today! This is exactly the same thing he did for Isaac during the time of recession or famine. The same God that did it for him is still very much alive today. And what he has done for one, he can do for another if you are willing to meet the conditions. When you look at the testimony of the scriptures, you will see that it was not only Isaac that prospered in challenging times, in fact, the likes of Father Abraham, Jacob and several other covenant people prospered in difficult times. Gen30v27,30.
So, my dear brothers and sisters, I want you to know that you can prosper in this kind of economy without cutting corners or even compromising! You can prosper:
-In whatever you do.
-Right where you are.
-Wherever you go. 2Ki18v7
I am very sure that by the time we finish this series of teachings, your confidence will rise to another level in Jesus name, amen.
But before I round up our discussion today, I like us to examine what it means to prosper. The word prosper is a very interesting word and it means the following:
-To excel in all that is good and desirable. To go to the highest place in anything desired.
-The ability to use God’s power to meet the needs of mankind in any realm of life. Eph3v20
-To push forward i.e.to advance, make progress, succeed, be profitable, to do well
-To be safe. i.e. to be well, happy, friendly, healthy, welfare etc.
-To help on the road, succeed in reaching etc. 3Johnv2
These are just some of the dimensions of what prosperity is all about. This is how God wants to prosper in this season and may today usher you into the beginning of such a season in Jesus name, amen.
