2Ki.6v25: And there was a great famine in Samaria; and indeed they besieged it until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver and one-fourth of a kab of dove droppings for five shekels of silver.

7v1, 16: Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord; ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria”. Then the people went out and plundered the tents of the Syrians. So a seah of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord.

You are welcome back to our discussion on the secrets of prospering in a time of crisis. As we have seen from our series of teachings so far that it’s God’s will for you to flourish in a time of crisis. I have also shared 6 powerful weapons of prospering in such a time of crisis. Today by His grace, I will be dwelling on the seventh secret weapon for succeeding in a time of crisis. My dear reader, this secret weapon will put you over in a time of crisis. So without much ado, let’s examine it right away.

WAYS OF PROSPERING IN A TIME OF CRISIS:

  1. Be mindful of the windows of opportunities in this season. Yes, there are opportunities in every crisis, in fact, opportunities are birthed in the womb of crisis. As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. What opportunities are you seeing in this hour of crisis? Esther became the Queen of Persia in a time of crisis because her uncle opened her eyes to see the opportunity in that crisis. The 4 lepers became wealthy in a time of crisis because they seized the opportunity that the season presented them. In every difficulty, there are opportunities and in every opportunity there are difficulties, it just depends on what you see and how you respond to it. So how can you spot opportunities in a time of crisis? You can be able to see the opportunities in any crisis:

    * By asking the right kind of questions. Ask questions that will provoke your creativity and innovation. Instead of asking who caused the darkness, ask rather what caused the darkness and how can I fix it? My dear reader, it’s time to ask the right kind of question (2Ki.7v3).
    * By following your sixth sense. This simply means to follow your convictions and your heart. You will never go astray when you follow the leading of the spirit. It’s time to pay attention to the promptings of your heart (Rom.8v14).
    * By seeing/hearing what others don’t see and hear. You see and hear what others are not perceiving by having a different perspective because your perspective determines what you see or hear. I pray for you today that the Lord will grant you seeing eyes and hearing ears to see and hear what others are not perceiving. This is how to spot opportunities (Pro.20v12).
    * By being proactive and not passive. When you are action-oriented and not passive, you are putting yourself in a good position to see opportunities. So, keep on being diligent and proactive (Gen.26v2, 12-16).
    * By repositioning yourself. Your position determines what you see and also who sees you. You can’t see opportunities if you are wrongly positioned. You may need to repackage yourself and your product if you won’t miss the opportunities of the season (Lk.19v1-10).

My dear reader, I pray that you will be able to see and seize the opportunities that are buried in a time of crisis. May your eyes be opened to those opportunities of breakthrough and transformations. May you never be stranded in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, open my eyes to see and seize the windows of opportunities that are embedded in a time of crisis in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I am anointed to prosper in a time of crisis for my eyes are open to seeing the opportunities in any situation. I see clearly and deeply. I see beyond others and I see before others see those opportunities. Glory be to God for I have seeing eyes and hearing ears. I am maximizing the opportunities of this season for his glory. I am advancing and making progress because I am profiting from the windows of opportunities that is before me.
