Pro.13v12: Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
I trust that you are enjoying this series of lessons on how to deal with the disappointments of life. Yes, you can overcome your disappointments, and in fact, you will defeat them in Jesus name, amen. There is still Hope for you, so don’t give up. My greatest motivation is that you are receiving help and ministry from these resources! This is my prayer and heartfelt desire for you. I am still talking about how to deal with your disappointments. Today, by his grace, I will proceed in sharing with you more keys on how to defeat your discouragements. If you are ready, so let’s get started the right way.
DEALING WITH DISAPPOINTMENTS:
4. Profit from your Disappointments. This is how to handle your disappointments; learn from it. Your disappointments can either make you a better or a bitter person. It all depends on the kind of attitude that you have. For example, Joseph did not allow his disappointments to define him because he rose above them. He profited from his setbacks. You, too, can have the same experience once your attitude is right. My dear reader, you can profit or benefit from your Disappointments and at this juncture, I would like to share how you can achieve this:
– Focus on the positives and not the Negatives. This is what the likes of Esther and Daniel did in their captivity. They saw the good out of the bad situation they were in. You, too, can borrow an example from their faith.
– Focus on where you are going and not what you are going through. At times, it’s possible to forget your destination at the expense of your distractions. Never let this happen! Focus on where you are heading. That is more important than the Pressures of where you are now; keep your eyes on the Promised Land. You will get there.
– Focus on the lessons and not your losses (Job 42v10-12).
– Focus on the Messages and not on your mess.
– Focus on your development and not on your distress (Ps.66v10-12).
Make sure you choose the right focus so as to overcome your disappointments. Learn whatever lessons are there to be learnt where you are now! I Decree in Jesus name that out of your pains, a new power will emerge! (Rom 8v28).
5. Use your Disappointment as a springboard to Greatness. Let your disappointments spur you to greater heights. Challenge your Disappointments! Draw inspiration and encouragement from the lives of ordinary people like you, who have successfully dealt with their disappointments. I once had the story of Fanny Crosby, one of the greatest hymns writers. She wrote over 8000 hymns. Some of the best-known ones are as follows:
– Blessed Assurance
– Pass me not O Gentle Savoir
– Safe in the Arms of Jesus
– To God be the Glory.
She did not allow the earlier disappointment she went through in life to stop her. When she was barely 11/2 months old, she lost her eyesight due to the wrong medications the Doctor gave her. That encounter would have totally destroyed some other people, but she instead used it as a stepping stone to Greatness. So my dear brothers and sisters, don’t give up on yourself or life because of your disappointments. Make sure you:
– Keep believing (Heb.10v39).
– Keep pushing. Never say Never (Eccle.11v6)!
– Encourage yourself in the Lord (1Sam.30v6).
– Put in your Best. Don’t throw in the towel.
– Take your Disappointments to God in prayers (Ps.42v5, 11).
My dear reader, don’t ever surrender to your disappointments. Fight the good fight of Faith 1Tim.6v10). I see you rise above the current of disappointments and despair in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: I see myself rising above the Chains of Disappointments and discouragements in Jesus name, amen.
CONFESSION: I see the tide turning in my favour. I see things turning around for my good. I am profiting from my setbacks. I am gaining wisdom and insights for better living. I am getting stronger and Wiser! What was meant for my downfall is what I am using for my Lifting and Promotion! It’s a new day for me! I am Victorious in all my disappointments in Jesus name, amen.
