Gen.8v22: “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease”.

God is a God of times and seasons and he has appointed also a time of harvest. There is a time of Harvest, although our harvest may be different from one another but surely there is an appointed time of harvest as you can see from our text in (Genesis 8 verse 22). However, in order to receive your harvest, you need to be aware of what harvest really means. This is what I intend to share with you in this lesson today. It will be difficult to experience and recognize your harvest if you don’t know what harvest is all about. So what is a time of harvest all about then?

WHAT IS HARVEST?

  1. It’s a time of increase and surplus. This is what happens during the time of harvest, there is enough to go around and there is also even left overs. This is one of the reasons why a farmer always looks forward to a time of harvest. So get ready for your time of increase is here (Matt.9v37; Joel 3v13).
  2. It’s a time of taking responsibility not making excuses. My dear reader, the reason for this is because usually harvest time is a busy time for the farmer. So if you are the lazy type, you might lose your harvest. So are you ready to take action! Harvest time is a time of being proactive and vigilant (Mk.4v29). So give no place for slothfulness! Go for your harvest! It will surely not elude you in Jesus name, amen.
  3. It’s a time of Reaping i.e. what you have sowed. So what have you sowed? Have you put any seed in the ground? What investments have you made in yourself or others? Make no mistake about this, it’s those who have sowed meaningful seeds that has something to look forward to during the time of harvest (Gal.6v9). This is why I am super excited about this season because someone is coming into the fruits of their labors. May that person be you in Jesus name, amen.
  4. It’s a time of bringing forth fruits. Harvest time is a time of fruitfulness. So there is no room for barrenness or sterility. This is why I declare that in your season of harvest you will bring forth that which you are carrying. That vision or dream won’t die in you but it will see the light of Day. You will bring forth greater and better fruits. Not only this, but also you will bring forth abiding and uncommon fruits. If you believe this, say a big amen (Jn.15v8, 16; Jam.5v7).
  5. It’s a time of Joy. Harvest season is usually connected with Joy! So in this season of harvest, your Joy will multiply. Your Joy will know no bounds! The heart of the farmer is usually filled with Joy at the sight of their bumper harvest. This is why I want you to expect in your hour of harvest; newness of Joy! (Ps.126v5-6.; Isa.9v3).
  6. It’s time of Actualisation of prophecies and promises. This is what harvest time is associated with. My dear reader, you need to get ready for the fulfilment of God’s promises towards you. Our God does not just make empty promises but he is keeper of his words. This is why your expectations won’t be cut off (Pro.23v18).
  7. It’s a time of reward and compensation. This is what harvest time is all about. It shall be your time of entering into the rewards over your labors and toil. This is what to expect and this is what you will receive. If you believe this, say a big amen (Jn.4v36; Gen.15v1).

My Dearly Beloved Ones, I believe you can now see what Harvest season is all about as you release your faith and labor your expectations won’t be in vain. I look forward to seeing in your land of harvest.
