Luke2 verse49 ‘And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?’

I believe that you have been enjoying this series of teachings on minding his business. God’s business should be our preoccupation and pursuit. Our lives should revolve around serving God. This is why we can draw inspiration from the example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by looking at how he did this work. If you do his work as Jesus did, you will succeed. May this be our experience and reality in Jesus name amen. From our last lesson, I shared with you some of the indicators of someone who is mindful of God’s work. Today by His grace, I will go a step further by sharing more insights along this line. So without much ado, let’s examine these principles right away.

Indicators of those who are mindful of His business:

4. They are given to God’s work without distraction. They don’t hesitate or dillydally with regards to God’s work. They are instead sold out and committed to God’s work. This is the way God also expects you to also serve Him. So my dear reader, what are the things that are distracting you from his work? It’s time to deal with those things decisively in Jesus name, amen. Lk9v56-62

5. They do His work with a different mindset or attitude. Their attitude is different from those who do God’s work anyhow. Someone who is mindful of his work is someone with whom you see no fault in the attitude with which they work. This was the kind of attitude that Nehemiah demonstrated while he was rebuilding the broken-down walls of Jerusalem. His attitude was excellent and spot on. It’s time for you also to embrace this kind of mindset, for this is the way and manner God wants you also to serve him. Are you willing to embrace this kind of attitude? Philip2v19-20

6. They are contributors and not just consumers. What do I mean by this? They are adding value to God’s work wherever they are. They bring something to the table. This is why they are contributors and not just a consumer. They are willing to spend and to be spent for the work. This is why making sacrifices for God’s work is not a big deal for them. This is how the likes of Paul, Timothy, David, Solomon, and others served God. It’s time for you, too, to enter into this dimension of service. May today be the beginning of such an encounter in Jesus name, amen. Lk8v2-3

7. They are passionate about God’s house or kingdom. This is why they are zealous for his house because they desire to see God’s purpose, order, and righteousness done in his work. This was the same kind of spirit that was also operational in the life of Jesus as he drove away from the temple those who bought and sold in his house. May this same spirit also come upon you as you serve in his house. Matt21v12-13: Jn2v13-17

My dearly beloved ones, it’s time to be mindful of God’s business. I pray that the things we have shared here will inspire you to serve better in Jesus name, amen.
