Luke2 verse49 ‘And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?’

How do you see God’s work? Do you see it as your business or other people’s business? The way you see God’s work will determine your commitment and contributions towards it. This is why you need to be mindful of his business. Jesus our Lord and savior, was mindful of his business, as you can see from our text scripture (Luke 2verse49). When he was just 12 years old, he started minding God’s business at a tender age and was never weary of God’s work. My dear reader, can you say the same about your dealings with God’s work? It’s time for you and me to be mindful of God’s work! In order to be mindful of his business, we need to know what it means to be mindful of God’s business. So what does it mean to mind God’s work or business? It can mean either of the following things:

1. To face God’s work squarely. This simply means to face God’s work directly, without deviating to one side. When you are mindful of his business, you are focused mainly on God’s work. My dear friends, this is the kind of devotion and commitment that God expects from us as his dear children! Can you say you are this committed to God’s work? Jn9v4

2. For God’s work to preoccupy your thoughts and mind or for you to have God’s work in mind. I have discovered that not everyone has God’s work in mind. Not everyone is thinking about his work. For most people, they are just simply thinking about themselves. If you are going to go far in life or your service to God, you need to have God’s work in your plans or agenda. This is what it means to be mindful of his business. Are you ready to put God’s work into your agenda and plans? Ps132v1-5

3. To care about the welfare and progress of God’s work or house. To show genuine care and concern about God’s house. This was the kind of care that Nehemiah had concerning the broken-down walls of Jerusalem. He was deeply concerned about the state of things in Jerusalem. I believe this also moved him into action and motion concerning what he could do to amend the situation. So we could say in a nutshell that Nehemiah was mindful of God’s House. He had a mind for God’s people and his House. No wonder he did something positive and tangible about the ruins in Jerusalem. This is how the father also wants you and me to respond to his work. Are you ready to respond to his work? Are you ready to be mindful of his business? Neh1v3-4:2v2-3,10
