Esther displayed a submissive and obedient attitude: to the instructions from her cousin, Mordecai about not revealing her identity. We don’t know why, but Esther was obedient.

Isa 1 vs 19 ” if you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land”.

1 Sam 15 vs 22 ” …to obey is better than sacrifice and to hearken than the fat of rams”.

Her obedience paid off on the long run, it proved to be the saving grace for the entire Jewish race.

The bible records that

“everyday, Mordecai went to the courtyard of the harem to ask about her to know what was happening” Esther 2 vs 11

This shows that Esther must have been a blessing at home to the Mordecai family and not a burden. No one will daily check on a wayward and disrespectful person.
