Psalms92 verse10 ‘But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.’

It’s apparent that God takes delight in anointing his people or exalting their horns. Ps75v10:148v14. And by the way, the word “Horn” means or is symbolic of at least two things i.e.
-The symbol of your strength, might or power or to simply put it (it’s the symbol of the anointing) 1Sam2v10
-The carrier or container of the anointing or oil. 1Sam16v1, 13
So God is the one who anoints, or the anointer and his heart desire is for the anointing to be fresh in your life. If you look at the word “Fresh” in our text scripture (Psalm 92verse10) the Word means the following – new, verdant, green, flourishing, luxuriant or prospering. This means that the anointing should be kept fresh and not stale or contaminated!
My dearly beloved ones, there have to be reasons why the anointing should be kept fresh otherwise, God would not be emphasizing it. So why do you need a fresh anointing?
You need to keep the anointing fresh because of the following reasons:

1. Because God says so. This simply means that this is his will for you as his child. He wants the oil in your life to be always fresh. For instance, when you examine Ephesians 5 verse 18, God admonishes the believer to be filled with the spirit instead of being drunk with wine. The word “filled” here is a Greek word known as “Pleroo” which means the following:
-To fill to the full.
-To fill up to the top.
-To fill up to the brim so that nothing is wanting.
-To fill to full measure.
-To consummate a number.
-To complete or render full.
-To cause to abound, to furnish or supply liberally.
If you carefully look at the meaning of these words, it’s clear that God wants you to be full of his power or spirit. So my dear reader, this is why you need a regular infilling of the spirit or the anointing on your life.

2. Because yesterday’s strength is not sufficient for today’s challenges .You know that the anointing is also likened to strength or in actual fact it’s spiritual strength. And this strength ought to be renewed regularly. Isa40v31. Thank God for yesterday’s strength or anointing but believe you need new strength or anointing in order to face the challenges of today. And if you are frank with yourself, you will agree with me that today’s challenges or problems are much more sophisticated than yesterday’s challenge. This is why you need to keep the anointing fresh on your life. My dear brothers and sisters, if you fail to do this regularly, it will affect the outworking of God’s power in your life. So make up your mind from today that you will always endeavor to keep the anointing fresh. This is how you will be at a better advantage in dealing with your attacks or challenges in life.
I pray that the oil of God on your life will never go dry or stale in Jesus name, amen.
