Genesis 8verse18-21 ‘V18-And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him: V19-Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark. V20-And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. V21-And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.’

God is not just interested in what we do but he is also interested in how we do it. He is interested in your praises but much more than that, he is interested in how you go about offering the praises to him. This is one of the reasons why I have been sharing with you about making an impact via our thanksgiving. Thanking God ought not to be an ordinary thing but an extraordinary event. Your thanks should have an effect on things, people around you and much more on you too. This is what this series of teachings is all about and I do hope you have been blessed so far by the truths we have been sharing. Today by his grace, I will be focusing on how to make an impact via your thanksgiving. There are ways of making impact through your thanksgiving and there are also ways of not making impact. So how do you make impact through your thanksgiving?

1. By offering a sacrifice of thanksgiving or praise. Your thanksgiving ought to be a sacrifice. What do I mean by this? It means, among several other things, that your praise or thanksgiving should cost you something. Sometimes I see people offering praise to God without it taking something out of them. This kind of praise lacks the quality of sacrifice, which is perhaps why it doesn’t do much! So, my dear brothers and sisters, it’s time to make your praises count by adding the quality of sacrifice to it. Ps107v22; Heb13v15.

2. By fulfilling your pledges and vows to the Lord. This is another means of taking your thanksgiving to another level or dimension. What promise or promises have you made to God? Are you keeping or abiding by those vows or promises? At times people make vows and not keep them. God does not want you to be this kind of person! Instead he wants you to be a man of your words. Let your words match up with action. A good example of someone who kept their word or promise was Hannah. See how she came back to thank the Lord for remembering her! Her thanksgiving made an impact because she kept her own side of the bargain. Sometimes we quickly forget what promise or vows we made to God in our moment of desperation and need. But my dear reader, the best way to go is fulfill whatever promise or vows you might have made to the Lord.Ps116v12-14

So make integrity your watchword by being sincere in your dealings with from today and watch what he will do in your praise life.
