Ephesians 4verse29 ‘Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.’
I am very sure you want your words to work for you and not against you! So, if this is the case, then you need to pay close attention to whatever is coming out of your mouth! This is very important and strategic too. This is why God admonishes you to be careful of the kind of words that comes out of your mouth as a believer. In fact, in our text scripture (Ephesians 4verse29), He says you should not allow corrupt words to come out of your mouth. It is interesting to note that the Word corrupt here means worthless, bad or rotten. So, in essence, God is saying stop saying useless, vain or worthless words. And as you can see from our text scripture, He wants you to say good words instead of saying useless words. The kind of words that edify and lift up. So, in essence, God wants you to choose your words wisely. He does not want you to speak foolishly or carelessly because your words carry weight and certain consequences. Pro13v3.
My dear reader, your words are much more powerful than you think! Your words are meant for communicating alone and setting your life on the pathway of destiny and purpose. So, how have you been using your mouth? And in case you don’t know, whatever you may be saying with your mouth has great consequences. Some of the consequences are as follows:
-What you say with your mouth will determine whether you will be victorious or not. Matt12v37
-It will determine the direction in which your life will go. A man cannot be greater than his mouth.Mk11v23
-It will determine the kind of outcomes that you will have in life. Matt21v21
So, my dear brothers and sisters, from what we can see so far, I believe that you can now see why you need to pay close attention to your mouth.
Your words are much more powerful than you think! Your words are instrumental to whether you will be victorious in the battles of life or not because your mouth is your weapon of victory. We actually fight with our words. 1Sam17v32-37. So, if I were you, I wouldn’t joke or downplay the effects of my words. So why not make a resolution from today that you will begin to pay attention to the words in your mouth?
