Ephesians 5 verse 1-2 ‘V1-Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; V2-And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.’
The Christian life is a journey of so many parts. We are to walk in the spirit, walk by faith, walk in obedience, among several other things. However one important area of our walk in our love walk. We are to walk in love. This is what God even commands us to do in our text scripture (Ephesians 5 verse 1-2). So how is your love walk? I guess our stories will differ from one person to another but this does not change God’s word to us. It’s time to take your love walk more seriously. And this is why God is sending this series of teachings your way! So what does it take to walk in love? In our last lesson, I shade some insights along with you, today, by his grace, I will proceed further by sharing more Insights that will help you in your love walk. So without much ado, let’s examine these truths right away.
2. Be a Forgiver. Forgiveness is a major issue in our world today! Some people struggle to forgive others while others are prompt in forgiving others. What category do you fall into? However, it’s important for you to know that you won’t be successful in your love walk, if you are not the kind of person that easily forgives. I know we live in a world where it’s practically impossible not to be offended but you must make up your mind to be a forgiver. My dear friends, forgiveness is a choice and it’s a choice that you can make. So I advise you today to choose forgiveness over unforgiveness. Chose to be a forgiver like our Lord Jesus Christ. Lk23v34.Chose to be a Forgiver like a true follower of Christ. I am not saying that people will not hurt you but you need to make up your mind upfront that regardless of whatever happens, you will forgive. My dear reader, this singular decision, will help you in becoming a stronger person and even matured believer in Christ. I want you to remember the following truths:
-You will offend God.
-You will offend others.
-Others will Offend You.
Just make up your mind to be a forgiver. This is how to walk in love. If you cannot forgive others, then you cannot walk In Love. As it’s rightly said: To err is human, but to forgive is divine! So choose to be a forgiver. Stop bottling things up! Stop holding things against people! Do away with malice, grudges, bitterness, resentments, and other vices.Eph4v31-32.
Instead, embrace forgiveness. Make it your way of life. Doing this will elongate your life and give you peace of mind! It will improve your overall wellbeing and success! So my admonition to you today, is to choose to be a forgiver! If you are connecting to this, can I hear a resounding amen?
