Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Have you ever wondered how someone is supposed to thank God? Well, you need not search further because God’s word answers this all-important question. The Word has not left you and me in the dark about how to thank God. There are ways we ought to go about thanking God and this is going to be the focus of our discussion in this series of lessons. When you look at our text scripture in Ephesians 5 verse 20, it is clear and visible how God wants you to thank him. He does not want to be appreciated by anyone because he is the King of Kings; hence, he deserves the very best of our praise.

So how does God want you to thank him, or how should you go about the business of thanking God?

HOW TO THANK THE LORD

1. Be thankful regardless of the situation.

This is one of the fundamental ways God wants you to praise him. Your praising of God is not supposed to be based on the circumstances or conditions of life; instead, God wants you to thank him despite the circumstances of life. Dearly beloved, don’t let the circumstances of life determine your praise; rather, let your praise determine your situation. When you do so, you will be thanking God in the right way and also provoking his Grace to work on your behalf. This is what God was trying to say through Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5 verse 20. So are you ready to praise God this way? Acts16v25

2. By saying no to complaining and murmuring.

Its natural for us as humans to complain, but this attitude will not help you praise God like you ought to. This is why God wants you to do away with murmuring or complaining at all costs because it’s detrimental to your faith. In fact, murmuring or complaining will do you more harm than good. This is why you need to embrace the spirit of gratitude over complaining. God wants you to thank him without a complaining or murmuring attitude. You need to say no to every form of murmuring or complaining in your life. Philip 2 v 14 – 15. This is how God wants you to go about thanking him and I want you to know that it’s possible to overcome the complaining or murmuring attitude. This is why God’s word is your refuge and strength.

I pray for you from today that you will find the strength and courage to walk in the truth in Jesus name, amen.

3. By saying no to worry and anxiety.

As you start saying no to murmuring and complaining, the quality of your life will also greatly improve. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to kick out of your life every complaining and murmuring spirit.

This is another enemy of your peace and joy. If you really want to be victorious in your life, you must say no to every form of anxiety. In fact, God wants you to live a life devoid of anxieties and worries. This is why he wants you to say no to anxiety. Instead of fretting, embrace the spirit of gratitude. Why worry when you can praise God.

One of the reasons you should not worry is that worrying won’t change your situation. In fact, it will even worsen the situation. My dear reader, worrying is not good for you. It’s time to say no to every form of worrying and anxiety. Instead of worrying, say Yes to the spirit of gratitude Philip 4 v 6 – 7. By the way, gratitude is far better than worrying. So it’s time for you to begin to rebel against every acy of worry that comes your way. I know that events will come to worry, but you must pass it up. The power to say no is your hands. So begin to use this powerful weapon and as you do so, you will begin to rise to New Levels of Glory. If you believe this, say a Big AMEN; AMEN.
