Pro.25v4: “Take away the dross from silver, and it will go to the silversmith for jewellery.”

It’s possible to increase your value as an individual; you just need to do more of the things that increase your value and less of the things that decrease value. No matter your current level of value, it can go higher. You can become a more valuable person if you know what to do. This is what our text scripture in (Pro.25v4) makes us to understand. We have to be willing to take some things from our lives, if our value will go up. He referred to those things as dross or impurities. A closer look at this scripture in the Good News Translation clearer drives home the point:“Take the impurities out of silver and the artist can produce a thing of beauty.” So, what are the things that you need to subtract and add in order for you to become more valuable? As you follow me in this series, you will discover those things and many more and your life will not remain the same in Jesus name, amen (Job 22v2).
In order to benefit fully out of this series, I’ll like you to understand certain things about value but before we look at this:
– What is value? Value is the regard that something is held to deserve: the importance, worth or usefulness of something. It is also the price equal to the intrinsic worth of a thing. It is the degree to which something is useful or estimable. This is what value is in a nutshell and I trust the Lord to shed His light more on this in your heart.
So, what are the things that you need to know about value if you will succeed in increasing your value as a believer:

Things to know about value:
1. Everyone has a measure of value. This means that there is nobody without value. In fact, human beings are the most valuable creatures that exist on the planet earth today, because among every other thing that God made, there is nothing that compares to you for you were made in the image and likeness of God. So, stop saying you don’t have value because you do have great value (Ps.139v14).
It’s possible to increase your value. No matter where you are today, your value can go up. A good example is the story of John Mark, one of the disciples of Apostle Paul. There was a time he was not that valuable to the ministry of Apostle Paul but that narrative eventually changed as we can see in (2Tim.4v11). Therefore, rejoice child of God, your level of profitability can also go up and it will go up in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Precious Holy Spirit, help me to fully realise and maximize my worth and value as a believer in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I am of great value to God and humanity. I have worth and value. I am the highest of God’s creation and I will realise the fullness of my usefulness to God and my generation. I will not just pass through this earth but I will make my mark and impact to the glory of God. I am a treasure and not a trash. I am a miracle and not a mess. By the grace of God, I am a value-adding person everywhere I go in Jesus name, amen.
