2Chro.27v6: So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.

Preparation is key to success in any field of endeavor. If you poorly prepare, you will poorly perform and if you properly prepare, you will properly perform. This was why King Jotham in our text was successful (2chro27v6). He took his preparations seriously. In the same vein, you can also have an amazing year if you take your preparations seriously. I know many people start a new year with so much zeal, enthusiasm, and even expectations, but not everyone can keep or sustain their hopes. This is why this series of teachings is coming your way. It’s designed to equip and help you make the most out of this new year.

You can have an Amazing Year. By the way, what do I mean by an Amazing Year? It’s a year pleasing to God and a year of accomplishing your goals and aspirations. It’s a fulfilling, rewarding and Wonderful Year. Yes, this can be your reality regardless of your present circumstances or challenges. However, from my observation and experience in life, I have discovered that having an amazing Year is based on the following three factors:

– Your willingness to take on certain tasks or obligations.

– Your readiness to meet certain conditions.

– And your willingness to make certain Decisions.

So my dear reader, are you ready to cooperate with these factors? If you are, then I can guarantee you that this year will be an Eventful One for you.

At this juncture, without much ado, I like to proceed by sharing with you in actual terms what these factors really mean.

CONDITIONS FOR HAVING AN AMAZING YEAR:

1. Invest in your spiritual life. Yes, this is one of the factors you need to pay attention to when starting a new year. Your Spiritual life speaks of your relationship with God. It’s the life that you live in and with God as a child of God. You need to make quality and quantitative investments into spiritual life this year if you want to go very far. This is very crucial because it’s the spiritual that determines the physical. So precious child of God, ensure that you make worthwhile contributions to your walk with God. This is a major determinant of your success in any venture in life (Rom.8v6).

So how precisely can you invest in your spiritual life? This is a very important question to consider. You do so by mainly:

Investing in the Word of God. The word of God is food for your spirit man. So make sure you feed fat on God’s word this year. Give attention to reading, studying, meditating, hearing, and obeying God’s word this year. In this way, you will be nourishing your spiritual life (Col.3v16). My dear brothers and sisters, I want you to know that investing in God’s word is the most profitable investment you can ever make. It’s better than any other kind of investment. So make it a major priority this year and see how your life will blossom (Pro.3v13-18).

Investing in your prayer life. This is another thing that will nourish your spiritual life. So make sure you spend quality time with God this year in the place of prayer. Take your time out with God very seriously and ensure that you make it consistent. This will greatly boost your walk with God and also enable you to have an Amazing Year (Acts 6v4; Rom.12v12).

My dear reader, are you ready to invest in your spiritual life this year? I pray that as you do so, your walk with God will be greatly fruitful. Welcome to a new season of your life in Jesus name, amen.
