2 Peter3verse18: ‘But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.’
So how do you grow spiritually? How do you develop your spiritual senses, muscles, and faculties? This is what I intend to share with you from this lesson onwards (as we have taken time to lay a solid foundation in the previous 7 lessons). There are ways of growing up spiritually and there are ways of not growing up spiritually too. You need to make sure that you are focused on the right ways of growing up spiritually! However, before we begin to look at how to grow spiritually, I want us to understand certain things about growing spiritually which are as follows:
1. You need a growth plan in order to grow spiritually. Without a strategy for growth, growth will be impossible. Pro15v22. So what is your growth plan? What measures have you put in place for growth? The answers you give to these questions will tell whether you will grow or not! One major advantage of a plan is that it helps you to know where you are going and how to get there! Mk1v35. So, my brothers and sisters, you need to put in place a growth plan.
2. You need discipline in order to execute your growth plan. Without discipline, your growth plan will just be a plan. Dan1v8. Discipline is the bridge between your dreams and reality. It is also the bridge between your goals and accomplishments! So how disciplined are you with regards to your growth plan? 1Cor9v27.
3. You need the Right Kind of diet (i.e. food) in order to grow spiritually. Just like you need the right amount or kind of food to grow physically, you need the right kind of diet for spiritual growth, otherwise, growth will be an Illusion. 1Pet2v2; Jer15v16. The good thing is that God has given us the right kind of food for our spiritual growth, we just need to take full advantage of them. In case you are wondering what those diets are, they are as follows:
-The Word of God. Acts20v32.
-Prayer. Acts6v4.
-The Holy Spirit.
-Service to God e t c. Lk2v36-37.
By the special grace of God, we will be looking in detail, at some of these essential resources for our spiritual growth. So see you in our next lesson.

Prayer for Today: Holy Spirit, help me to be disciplined enough to follow through my growth plan for my spiritual growth in Jesus’ name amen.
CONFESSION: I commit myself to grow spiritually! As I stick with my growth plan and feed on the right kind of diet, my spiritual life will never be the same again. Glory be to God, it’s my season of spiritual growth.
