2 Peter3verse18: ‘But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.’

You are welcome back to our discussion on growing spiritually and I believe that you were blessed with the foundation that was laid in the introductory part of this teaching.

Today by his grace, I want us to go a step further by examining some basic truths about spiritual growth. Yes, the basic truths are important because they are the basis for the foundation or fundamentals of our life. So, what are these basic truths that you must know about spiritual growth?

BASIC TRUTHS ABOUT SPIRITUAL GROWTH:

1. Growing spiritually is your personal responsibility. Yes, you are the one that will determine how much or far you will grow. The power is in your hands and not in another person’s hands. Nobody can grow for you but it’s something you have to do for yourself! So are you ready for the challenge? Are you ready to take charge of your spiritual growth? 1Pet2v2; 2Peter3v18.

2. There is a Price for Spiritual Growth. My dear brothers and sisters, nothing just happens by itself. Growing spiritually will cost you something! It will cost you your time, pleasure, sleep, effort, energy, money, etc. Luk2v36-38. To go up, you have to give up. There is a price for everything in life. And the higher you want to go, the greater the price or sacrifice!

Therefore, you have to be willing to pay the price for spiritual growth. All growth depends on one form of activity or the other.
There is no development spiritually without any effort on your part. So how willing are you to pay the price?

I pray that today will usher you into the beginning of your best days as you pay the price for your spiritual growth and development. Pro17v16; Luk1v80

CONFESSION: I commit myself today to growing spiritually. I take full responsibility for my spiritual growth. I refuse to blame others but I take hold of my destiny myself. Therefore I go forward and make progress. Nothing will slow me down anymore because it’s a new day for me. As I pay the price for spiritual growth, the fruits are abiding in my life for all to see in Jesus name amen.
