1Timothy6verse12. ‘Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witness.
I believe that you are enjoying this series of teachings on dealing with the enemies of your faith. We have established that our faith has enemies, which is one of the reasons why God said we should fight The Fight of Faith. In order to lay hold of your inheritance, you must be willing to fight the Good Fight of faith. So, what’s the fight of faith all about then? It’s about dealing with the enemies of your faith that don’t want you to enter into the fullness of God’s promises. This is why you need to know how to deal with these enemies, and so far, I have shared two of such enemies with you and how you ought to deal with them. Today by his grace, I will proceed to share with you another enemy of your faith and how you ought to deal with it. I believe you are ready for this, so off we go!
3. Doubt. Yes, this is another important enemy of our Faith that you need to know how to handle. So, what is doubt? Doubt is when you are not sure of a thing. It’s the feeling of being unconvinced or uncertain about some things. It also means to waiver an opinion or think that something is unlikely to happen. When we doubt, we limit the power of God. Doubt is a form of misgiving or distrust. This is why you need to stand against every operation of doubt in your life because it will hinder your faith. Doubt is an enemy of faith, so give it no place at all. Jam1v5-8
Most of the time, we start doubting when we take away our eyes from the Lord or when we get distracted. This is why you need to keep your eyes on the lord or his Word if your faith won’t waver. Ps141v8.
Doubters base their faith on seeing, feelings, or the five senses, while persons of faith base their faith on what he has said or his Word. This is the difference between Thomas’s kind of faith and Abraham’s kind of faith. Jn20v25,29. My dear reader, what kind of believer are you? Do you base your belief on seeing or his word? Your answer will tell which kind of believer you are.
So, what is the antidote to doubt? It’s to always keep your focus on his Word or Promises! Never let his word depart from your eyes or focus. Stay in Faith at all costs. Don’t allow anything or anyone to take your focus away from his word. So, make sure you abide in his word. The more God’s word gets rooted and established in your heart, the lesser the grip of doubt. Jn15v7.So it’s time to doubt your doubt and start having faith in your faith. It’s time to put your doubts where it truly belongs, and that is under your feet. Glory be to God, I see you gaining the upper hand from today in Jesus name. Amen.
