Proverbs17 verse16 ‘Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.’
I am very sure that there are certain things that you want to change for the better in your life either spiritually, emotionally physically, financially materially, professionally, relationally, academically or career-wise! Then you need not look further because the answers that you seek are here. However, if things will ever change for the better, there is a price that you need to pay for it. This is what our text scripture (Proverbs 17verse16) is also talking about. i.e. A fool is not willing to pay the price for the desired change in their lives. A better translation of this scripture reveals the reason behind the reluctance of the fool. Check the Living Bible Version:
-It is senseless to pay tuition to educate a rebel who has no heart for truth.
My dear brothers and sisters, if you want things to change for the better, you must be ready to pay the price. A classic example of this truth in the Bible is the story of Hannah (1Sam1v1-20). She really desired a change for the better and was willing to pay the price to make it happen. So what did she do differently? And how can you know people who want things to change for the better? These kinds of people possess the following qualities:
I. They are tired of going through the motions. I.e. acting like everything is okay.
ii. They are desperate for a change. You could see this in operation in Hannah’s encounter at Shiloh. Gen32v26
III. They are tired of putting up. The harassment and intimidation of the enemy. 1Sam1v6-7. They are simply saying enough is enough to the enemy of their souls.
iv. They are not willing to take no for an answer. They are ready to go all the way, no matter what it takes. 1Sam1v12-13.
Are you ready to do likewise? Are you ready to manifest these qualities so that you can experience the change that you desire? The answers you give to these questions will determine where you will end up at the end of the day. I pray that the fire for a change for the better will grow in you to bring you to the place of transformation in Jesus name, amen.
