Joshua 21 verse45 ‘There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Isreal; all came to pass.’

The promises of God are there for us to enjoy as believers but the sad thing is that not every child of God is enjoying these promises. And the major reason for this is because not every child of God knows how to appropriate his promises! I have discovered that there are different kinds of receivers. Some are good receivers while some are bad receivers. Others are active receivers while some are passive receivers. The problem is not with the promises but with the receiving of the promises. This is why I will be sharing with you on how to appropriate these promises of God. By appropriate, what do I mean?
-How to make his promise a reality in your life.
-How to lay hold of it or take delivery of his promises.Ps34v8
As you can see from our text scripture that God is ever faithful to his promises. He is not a man that he should lie or repent. I love the good news version of our text scripture (Jos21v45) because it drives home the point Better:
“The Lord kept every one of the promises that he had made to the people of Israel.”
My dear brothers and sisters, in the same vein, God wants to make good his promises to you; you just need to know how to receive them.
However before I begin to share with you the ways we appropriate these promises, there are some basic truths about God’s promises that you need to know. So what are these fundamental truths?

1. The promises of God belongs to you as a believer. This is one of the basic truths about God’s promises that you need to know with absolute assurance. Just like you know your name! You need to know that the promises of God are your heritage! 2Pet1v4.

2. The promises of God are always True and reliable. God’s promises never fail. His promises never change or lie or disappoint. This is why you can depend on it and even build your life around it. I can guarantee you that it won’t fail you. This is another important truth that you need to know about his promises, if you are ever going to receive it in reality. 1Pet1v23

Say this out loud; His promises will never fail me! His promises belong to me!
I pray that the reality of these truths sinks deep into your understanding in Jesus name amen.
