2Cor. 2 v 11: Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Dearly Beloved, I am sharing with you on how Satan attacks us as a believer, and I do hope you are gaining wisdom and insights that will enable you to win in the battles of life. You need to be aware of Satan’s tactics so that you can be in a better position of defeating him. I am super excited about these teachings because I know that your day of suffering in silence is over; your hour of liberation has come (Jn. 8 v 36). So what is another weapon that Satan often uses to attack God’s children? That is what we are set to discover today, so here we go!
THE TOOLS/DEVICES OF SATAN
6. Your Weaknesses. Satan often uses our area of weaknesses to attack us; this is why you need to pay attention to your weaknesses. Your area of weakness speaks of where you are not strong enough, i.e. the area of shortcomings, frailties, soft-spots or vulnerability et cetera. The truth of the matter is that everybody has a soft-spot or weak point. This is why the scriptures say in Rom. 8 v 26 that the Spirit of God is willing to come to your aid regarding your infirmities. The word infirmities here mean feebleness of mind or body. These areas of weakness are potential sources of temptations or attacks from the enemy. This is why you need to pay attention to them so that the enemy won’t succeed in using them against you.
These weaknesses can be in the mind, body, or character of people and can also manifest in different ways. Some examples of these weaknesses as found in the lives of certain Bible characters are listed below:
- (Balaam, Judas Iscariot & Gehazi)— Love of Money; (Esau)- Food; (Solomon, David, Samson, Reuben & Judah)— Lust of the Eyes, Lust of the Flesh & Women; (Simeon & Levi)— Anger; (Uzziah & Nebuchadnezzar)— Pride; (Gideon & King Saul)— Inferiority Complex; (Elijah)— Discouragement, etc.
What is your area of weaknesses? It is time to deal with them before it deals with you. The good news is that your area of weakness can become an area of strength when you surrender and submit yourself to God and his plans (James 4 v 7).
My dear reader, before I bring our discussion to an end today, I’ll like to share with you some of the ways Satan uses our weaknesses against us:
- By tempting you along your area of weakness. Satan will not tempt you with what you don’t like; be on your guard (2 Sam. 11 v 1).
- When you refuse to work on your weaknesses. Help is only available to those who are willing and teachable. So my dear friends, speak up today and get the help you need urgently (Phil. 2 v 12).
- By refusing to be accountable to others. Living like you don’t need anyone and refusing to take correction is an invitation to disaster and destruction. So make accountability a part of your life if you really want to be victorious in this battle (Prov. 29 v 1: 15 v 12).
Dearly Beloved, you can gain the upper hand over the devil when it comes to your area of weakness. His grace and word is available for you, so what are you waiting for? I charge, therefore, to arise and begin to exercise your dominion mandate over every area of weaknesses in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Holy Spirit, give me the courage and strength to confront my area of weakness in Jesus name, amen.
CONFESSION: My area of weakness is becoming my source of strength and stability. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and his Word, I overcome and subdue my shortcomings and weak points. I am no longer a slave to my frailties. The greater one rises up within me against every operation of the enemy in my life. I am rising up in power and victory over all the attacks of the enemy. Glory be to God; I am a winner and not a loser. I am a conqueror and not the defeated one. I win this battle over all my areas of shortcomings in Jesus name, amen.
