2Cor.2v11: Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
You are welcome back to our discussion on how Satan attacks us. Yes, Satan has certain proven ways of attacking the believer but glory be to God, we are not at the mercy of the evil one. Jehovah has provided ways for us to walk in dominion over all the works of the enemy (Lk.10v19). According to (2Cor.2v11), one way the enemy will not have the advantage over you is by understanding his wiles and strategies. In this manner, you will be in a stronger position of subduing his operations. Today by His grace, I want us to examine another common tool Satan often uses against a believer. I am sure you are interested in knowing this weapon, so let’s check it out.
THE TOOLS/DEVICES OF SATAN:
- Your tongue. Satan can use your tongue against you if you allow it. This is why you need to be mindful of your words. What you say can either empower God or Satan. It can even make or mar your destiny. Your tongue can either work for you or against you (Pro.13v2-3). So, what kind of words have you been saying? Are they working for you or against you? It’s time for you to begin to pay attention to the words of your mouth. It’s time to put an end to words that empower the devil instead of God in your life. This is something that you need to do if you really want to walk in dominion over Satan and his cohorts.
My dear reader, I’ll like us to examine some of the ways Satan uses our tongue and words against us. Satan can use your tongue against you:
- By not choosing your words wisely. When you speak without careful consideration or rashly, you are empowering Satan by your words. So, you need to put an end to this form of speaking in your life (Col.4v6).
- By saying what you don’t mean. It’s better to keep quiet than speak foolishly (Eccle.5v1-2).
- By saying what you don’t want. When you speak like this, you are giving the enemy dominion over your life; so keep over the words of your mouth (Mk.11v23-24).
- By speaking based on your senses/feelings. You ought to walk by faith and not by sight if you really want to put the enemy underneath your foot. Learn to speak by faith and not by what you see alone (2Cor.5v7).
- By speaking contrary to what you believe or expect. Always speak your expectation and not your fears. In this way, you will be empowering God in your life and operations (Rom.4v21).
- By listening to the wrong voices. When you allow the wrong people to speak into your life, you are opening the door for Satan to sow contrary words into your life. Be mindful of who speaks into your life (Neh.4v3-4).
- By speaking negatively. It’s time to eliminate negative words from your life if you don’t want Satan to have access to your life (Eph.4v29).
Dearly beloved, I believe you can now see why you need to start paying attention to what you say with your mouth. Let your words liberate you and not imprison you. I decree today that an end comes to the operations of Satan via your mouth in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: Lord, help me to be mindful of the words of my mouth. Help me to choose the words of my mouth wisely and carefully. I choose to say what I want and not what I don’t want. I speak faith and not my fears. I speak life and not death. I speak light and not darkness. I speak love and not hate. I speak possibilities and not impossibilities. I speak solution and not my problems. I speak victory and not defeat. As I speak forth in this manner, I see myself walking in victory and dominion over all the attacks of Satan. Glory be to His name, for my words liberate me and give me victory.
