2Cor.2v11: Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

There are ways Satan attacks us as believers and it’s important for you to be aware of his schemes/methods if you are going to defeat him. This is why 2Cor.2v11 says we should not be ignorant of Satan’s devices. If he won’t have an upper hand over you, you need to be familiar with his wiles. In this series of teachings, we will be learning about some of them. I want you to consider some other translations of 2Cor2v11 for a better understanding of our text scripture:

“In order to keep Satan from getting the upper hand over us: for we know what his plans are”- Good News Translation.

“In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes”- New International Version.

Dearly beloved, I believe you can see from our text scripture why it’s so crucial for you to be aware of Satan’s schemes and plans. Knowing this will put you in a position of dominion and victory. However, before we begin to examine Satan’s strategies, I want you to know why Satan attacks us. Why does Satan attack us?

THE REASONS SATAN ATTACKS US:

1. Because he is our enemy and not our friend. You need to know Satan for who he really is. From his names, you can clearly see he is an enemy and not an ally i.e. Satan means the accuser (2Cor.2v11); Adversary means an opponent in a lawsuit (1Pet.5v8); Devil means a traducer or slanderer (Jn.8v44).
2. Because you are in an opposing kingdom to his own kingdom. You are in the kingdom of God or light. So, it’s the kingdom of light versus the kingdom of darkness and I am sure you know the clear winner in this fight — it’s the kingdom of light of course (Col.1v13).
3. Because of your colorful destiny. His aim is to thwart or frustrate your destiny but glory be to God, you are more than a conqueror (Lk.22v31-32).
4. Because he wants to weaken and destroy you ultimately. This is his main desire and this is why he attacks you consistently (Jn.10v10)

Deaf friends, the good news is that you can deal with all his wiles if you understand how he operates. This is what this series of teachings will do for you. I can see a new day on the horizon. I can see you walking upon your high places. I see you walking in total victory over all of Satan’s plans in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank you for equipping me with the tools for all the wiles of Satan. Glory be to God, I will not be taken unaware by his plans and schemes.

CONFESSION: I am not ignorant of the devices of Satan for I am fully aware of how he operates and works. Therefore, I will not be caught unawares or taken by surprise because I walk in the light of His word. Therefore, victory is my portion. I win and prevail in all his attacks against me because light always prevails over darkness any day and any time. This is my testimony and story in Jesus name, amen.
