John 14:16-18: “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that he may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you”

You are welcome back to our discourse on the Holy Spirit as our Blessed Comforter. I do hope that you are already experiencing the comforting ministry of the Holy Spirit. Our focus today will be on some other implications of the Holy Spirit as our comforter:

  • He will teach you all things. So this means you have a teacher for life and a wise teacher for that matter, for he is the reservoir of all knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Therefore, you can be rest assured that you will never be stranded in any area of life (Jn.14:26).
  • He will bring to your remembrance whatsoever Jesus has said to you. So, this means you will never suffer shortness or loss of memory about the things he has taught you (Jn.14:26).
  • He will guide you into all the truth so you will never be led astray or fall into error as long as you walk with him because he is the Spirit of Truth (John 16:12-13).
  • He is to show you things to come, so. this means he will prepare you ahead of time as per things that will happen. The word show or shew in (John 16:13) is the Greek word Anangello which means to announce (in detail), declare, report, rehearse, speak or tell. This simply means if you walk with the Holy Spirit like you ought to, you will not be taken by surprise about things that are happening or would happen, for He will prepare you ahead of time. It’s apparent from the things we have seen about the ministry of the Holy Spirit as our Comforter that we are yet to fully explore the fullness of the blessing of the Holy Spirit. May today mark the beginning of a stronger and deeper walk with the Holy Spirit, Amen.
