2Kings4verse26 ‘Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, is it well with thee? Is it well with thy husband? Is it well with the child? And she answered, it is well.’
It is important for someone to have the right kind of attitude in the midst of the storms or challenges of life. The storms of life come to every one of us but how we respond to them will determine if we will be victorious! This is one major principle that was at work in the life of the Great Woman of Shunem in our text scripture. Although there was trouble (because her child had actually died i.e. 2Ki4v19-20), her attitude was that of faith in God. How do we know this? By her response, of course! She said categorically, “All is Well,” when Gehazi asked her about her well-being and welfare. She was speaking faith in the midst of a major turbulence and crisis of life. She certainly displayed the right kind of attitude towards the challenges of life! So, how have you been responding to the challenges of this season? Do you have the right kind of mentality towards the problems that you are going through at the moment? Your attitude towards the challenges of life will determine to a great extent if you will be victorious or not. Acts16v25-26.
This is why you need to see challenges from the right perspective. What kind of perspective do I actually mean? I want us to examine some at this junction:
-Challenges do not mean God is not with you. Matt4v1. On the contrary, at times, it is a confirmation of God being with you.
-Challenges do not mean you are a bad person because even the righteous will go through trials. Ps34v19-20
-Challenges are not going to be forever. Every trial has an expiry date, so cheer up, my dearly beloved.
-Challenges do not mean there is no way out or that you are doomed. 1Cor10v13.
-Challenges do not mean that God does not love you. Rom8v35-39.My dear reader, we are persuaded of God’s love for us in the midst of the challenges or storms of life. And know that there is no Challenge that can ever separate you from his love! So why not put on the right attitude in the midst of your current challenges because you are destined to win? If you believe this, can I hear a resounding amen?
