Ephesians 4verse14-15 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.’

You are welcome back to our discussion on Growing Up To Maturity. Its God’s will for you to be complete in Christ and we have been looking at how you can identify a mature Christian. Every tree is known by its fruits. In the same vein, you can recognize someone who is working towards spiritual Maturity. My purpose in this lesson is to share with you some additional qualities of a spiritually matured Christian. I trust that you will be greatly blessed as we go through these truths together.

VITAL SIGNS OF A MATURE BELIEVER:

7. They are becoming more and more like Christ in character and charisma. This is another important virtue of a Matured Christian. There is a transformation in terms of their character, conduct and result. If someone does not see any remarkable change in their lives, it’s an Indication of not really growing because change is the evidence of growth. Acts4v13: 1Cor4v16. Dearly Beloved, to what extent are you becoming more and more like Christ?

8. They have a sense of accountability. They know whose and whom they belong to; this is why they don’t live recklessly or anyhow. They are accountable to God, man and even themselves. This is how you recognize a truly Spiritual person. Can you say you are accountable? How well do you keep and utilize what is committed into your hands? These are important questions that you need to ruminate on so as to know where you stand with regards to your spiritual maturity. 2Cor8v21: Acts24v16

9. They can take responsibility for themselves. This is another trait of a Matured Christian. They know how to motivate themselves to action or work. They take the initiative for themselves and are not involved in playing the blame game. When you get to this stage of maturity, you don’t need much follow up or monitoring because you are self-motivated. Oh, what a joy and delight it will bring to our Heavenly Father when we grow Up unto Him this Way. Rom2v1. So my dear brothers and sisters, let nothing stop you from growing up to him.

10. They can be trusted and relied on. Faithfulness and reliability are some of the hallmarks of a mature Christian. Are you a man of your word? Do you keep to your promises? These are just some of the questions you need to ask yourself if you are truly a reliable person. Brethren, its time to take seriously the issue of your spiritual growth and maturity because nothing gladdens the heart of the Father like this. 1Cor4v2: Pro20v6.
