Growing up to Maturity 3

Ephesians 4verse14-15 ‘That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.’

I trust that you are getting blessed with this series of teachings on spiritual maturity. Your maturity is of great importance to God and should also be to you too because as you grow up spiritually, God is also glorified therein. So you should take your spiritual maturity seriously. However, it’s important to know that we are not all on the same level of growth. This accounts for why I have been sharing with you how to identify if you are a baby Christian or not. In our last lesson, I gave you some attributes of recognizing a baby Christian. Today by his grace, I will further share with you four more additional qualities of a baby Christian. If you are good to go, let’s delve into it right away.

SIGNS OF A BABY BELIEVER:

5. They are naive in their ways. This simply means that they are easily deceived or led astray. This is why you need to grow up so that you won’t be a victim of this seduction anymore. A sound mind is an indication of maturity. So how sound is your mind? Eph4v14.

6. They speak like a child. The way you speak is an indication of your maturity. So how do you speak? Do you speak anyhow, rashly, without thinking, or do you talk too much? All of these manifestations are indications of immaturity. A good example of this in the Bible is the children of Israel when they were in the Wilderness. They were fond of complaining, murmuring, e .t.c. You need to outgrow all of these symptoms if you will really grow up in Christ. So what are you waiting for? Pro10v19: Jam3v2

7. They understand like a child. Your understanding is an indication of your Maturity. So how is your understanding of people, things, life or spiritual matters? The answers you give will reveal where you are in your journey of faith. I know that people are at various levels of understanding. May your understanding of Him grow thereby in Jesus name, amen. As you experience this, you will be pressing unto greater heights in God. If you believe this, say a big AMEN. Lk9v44-45

8. They behave like a Child. A child is known by the way they respond or react to issues. So how would you rate your thinking capacity or mentality? How do you see yourself? Do you have a good self-image of yourself or not? Your answers to these questions will tell us how you think. Anyone thinking like a child is still a baby Christian and God wants you to grow up in Your thinking capacity and level. Are you willing to rise up to that challenge? 1Cor13v11

Every tree is known by its fruits, so what kind of fruit have you been bearing?

Prayer for Today: Lord, I commit myself to the process of developing spiritually unto maturity in Christ in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I commit myself to grow up unto him in all things. I outgrow every form of carnality in my life! I refuse to allow the works of the flesh to dominate my life. As I cooperate with God and his Spirit, I grow in my walk with the Lord. This is my testimony and experience in the land of the living in Jesus name, amen.
