Getting Ready For the New Year 5

2Chronicles27verse6 ‘So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.’

I believe that these series of teachings have been of great help to you so far. The new year is upon us and it’s important for you to make adequate preparations for it so as to effectively maximize the new year. I have shared four major principles with you that will help you to get ready for the new year. However, in today’s lesson, I will be sharing more insights with you. So if we are good to go, let’s examine these principles right away.

5. Find out from God what direction you ought to go. My dear reader, not all roads lead to the same place and not all roads will take you to your expected destination in life. This is why you need to get your bearing from God. Exo33v14-15: Ps25v12-14. If you don’t know where you are going:
-Any road will lead there
-You will not know when you get there
-You will likely settle for something else
This is why you need to allow God to direct your steps. You can achieve this by:
-Seeking the Lord via your prayers.Ps105v4
-Searching the scriptures.Jn5v39
-Fasting and waiting on the Lord.Acts13v2
My dear reader, as you do this, God will begin to speak to you and also direct your ways and paths. Jer29v13

6. Set goals in line with God’s will for your life and the year. It’s important to define where you want to go, what you want to do, and who you want to become. This is all part and parcel of goal setting. Jn4v34. So make sure you set clear written goals for the new year. Let your goals be specific and measurable. You also need to ensure that your goals are achievable and realistic. As you do this, you will be setting the stage for a powerful new year. So my dear reader, have you written out your goals for the new year?

7. Depend earnestly on the help of God. You need God’s help to make the most of the new year. So ensure that you lean on and seek his help in all your ways. God knows about the new year more than you do. Hence the reason why you need his help, wisdom and assistance! So, my dear reader, don’t hesitate to depend on God’s help all the way. As you do this, I can guarantee that your ways shall be prosperous in the new year. Ps127v1: Heb4v16
