2chronicles27verse6 ‘So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.’
The new year is upon us and one of the things you ought to do is to get ready for it. Your getting ready for the new year should be proactive and not reactive! What is the difference between the two? Being proactive is thinking ahead, and taking the lead or initiative, while reactive is reacting to the circumstances or lacking initiative. My dear reader, are you a proactive or reactive person? It’s clear from our text scripture that Uzziah was a Proactive person. The reason he became great was because of his preparations. So how can you know a proactive person?
-They are already looking forward to the new year.
-They are already thinking about the new year
-They are already planning for the new year. 1Chro29v2-5
-They are already praying and seeking God’s face concerning the new year. Prov16v3
-They are already working towards the new year.Philip2v13
So my dear brothers and sisters, how prepared are you for the new year? The truth of the matter is that you have to take personal responsibility for your own preparation. It’s something you have to do for yourself. I cannot do it for you. This is what we also see from the life of King Uzziah; he took personal responsibility for his destiny. Are you ready for this kind of responsibility? Until you do so, you won’t be able to fulfil your colourful destiny. So I charge you today to begin to put in place the necessary things for a beautiful new year. Pro24v27. If you will rise up to this challenge, can I hear a resounding Amen?
