2Chro.27v6: So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.
You are welcome back to our discussion on getting ready for a new year. I do believe that you have been blessed by the things I shared so far with you. It’s important for you to take your preparation seriously if you really want to have a glorious new year. Today by His grace, I will be sharing more insights into the kind of tools you need to get ready for a new year.
TOOLS FOR GETTING READY FOR A NEW YEAR:
- Be grateful for the outgoing year. No matter what your lot or experience was like in the outgoing year, it’s important for you to still be grateful. Gratitude is the way to go. This is what God expects of you no matter what the situation of life you might be in. Gratitude should be your response (1Thes.5v18). My dear reader, no matter how challenging the outgoing year may be, there are still things you can be grateful for and it’s your responsibility to find them out. If you will look closely and within you will see things you can be grateful for in the outgoing year. Stop complaining or grumbling about the outgoing year! Instead, focus on the positives and not the negatives. Chose gratitude over grumbling. Chose communication over complaining. Gratitude is the right attitude to have if you really want the new year to be different for you. So, start off your gratitude challenge today by answering these questions: What are the things you are most grateful for in the outgoing year? What are the things you accomplished? What are the lessons you have learnt?
- Find out what God has in store for you. By this, I mean what is God’s master plan or blueprint for your life in the new year? What is God saying to you in the new year? This is one of the most important steps you can ever take with regards to preparing for the new year. While it’s good to know what the budget is saying, it’s much more important for you to know the direction God wants you to go in the new year(Ps.25v12, 14). My dear reader, God has certain things i.e. directives/instructions to tell you and you need to be able to discern it. You need to seriously make time to seek His face and in order to get the best out of your seeking, you need to:
* Seek him with all your heart (Jer.29v13).
* Seek him continually or consistently.
* Seek him in fasting/prayers (Lk.2v36-37).
These are just some of the proven and tested ways of seeking His face that you need to deploy. My dearly beloved ones, one thing I can guarantee you is that your seeking of His face won’t be in vain if you put all of your heart into it. So, get ready for His directives. Get ready to receive His instructions which will make you a high flyer in the new year.
