Getting Ready For A New Year 3

I trust that you are finding our discussion on how to get ready for a new year useful and interesting. So far, I have shared 3 powerful tools that will help you to make the most out of any year. Today by His grace, I will be sharing some other principles with you. Dearly beloved, what makes a year different is not just entering a new year but the kind of attitude that you enter the new year with. So what are the tools that can make the new year different for you?

TOOLS FOR GETTING READY FOR A NEW YEAR:

1. Prepare for the year with a different mind-set. Don’t prepare for the new year with the same old, lazy or defeatist mentality. Avoid preparing for it causally, normally or traditionally. Instead, prepare with a different kind of attitude. Don’t compromise or reduce your preparation. You need to remember that the new year is a year you have never seen or experienced before, so prepare with a new attitude (Eph.4v23). So in what ways precisely can you approach the new year with a different mind-set.
   
   * Prepare for the new year with a great sense of expectation (Pro.23v18)
   * Prepare with a renewed sense of vigour and vitality (Eccle.9v10)
   * Prepare with a great sense of responsibility.
   * Prepare with a different approach/mentality (Isa.43v18-19)
   * Prepare like you have never prepared before

My dearly beloved ones, are you ready to prepare with a different kind of mind-set?

2. Prepare on a clean slate. If you want to go far and faster in the new year, you need to travel light. You need to let go of every baggage and weight that is capable of slowing you down. Avoid carrying this over into the new year with you. What are these weights and excesses that you need to deal with? They are:

* Every hurt, pain, disappointment etc. of the outgoing year (Ps.147v3).
* Every issue with your past (Philip.3v13-14)
* Every malice, bitterness or unforgiveness(Eph.4v31-32).
* Every burden on your heart (1Pet.5v7)

My dear reader, allow God to heal and deliver you completely from every burden, care or worries about the outgoing year. Don’t carry it over into the new year so that you can have a glorious and colourful new year! This is my prayer for you in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I am focused on getting ready for the new year in the best possible way. I will not be distracted by my past or the disappointments of the outgoing year. I am certain and convinced that the new year holds a better promise for me. Therefore, I will make the most of the new year by the special grace of God. I will experience the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living in Jesus name, amen.
