Gen.12v1-4: The Lord has said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you”. So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

You are welcome back to our discourse on getting out of your comfort zone. I trust that you are rebelling against all things that are trying to keep you in your comfort zone. Dear friends, you need to see coming out of your comfort zone as a matter of necessity and great importance for that is the place where you will experience the fullness of God’s plan and purpose. As a way of strengthening your understanding of this great subject, I want to share with you today some of the enemies in your comfort zone that you need to deal with if you really want to excel in your life.

SOME ENEMIES IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE:

  • Fear. This is one of the greatest enemies in your comfort zone and if you give in to your fears, you will never fulfil your colourful destiny. This is why you must not allow your fears to tie you to your comfort zone. Don’t allow it to keep you down. Say no to all those fears that are keeping you in this zone. Those fears are just false evidences appearing real. So, it’s time to confront them (Pro.29v25). I want you to be prepared to stand against these fears of yours. In what ways do they manifest? Some of these fears manifest as fear of men, fear of failure, fear of tomorrow/uncertainty, fear of the dark, fear of rejection, fear of disappointment, fear of standing alone to mention just a few. Fear is a killer of your destiny, so never bow to it in Jesus name, amen. You will prevail if you refuse to cave in Jesus name, amen.
  • Culture/Tradition. From experience, I have come to discover that we are used to doing things the way it has always been done but to experience a better life, you need to do things in a new way. If you stay with customs/tradition, you won’t get out of your comfort zone. My dear reader, do not allow any cultural bias or tradition to keep you in the comfort zone, step out by faith like Gideon did in (Jug.6v24-32).
  • People. As strange as this may sound, people can keep you in your comfort zone if you allow them. It’s good to honour and respect people but do not allow anybody, no matter who they are, to limit your vision or put a lid on what you can do. It’s time to break away and free from the preconceived notion and sayings of men. It’s time for you to rise above every limitation of men in Jesus name, amen (Mk.8v33). May you fulfil your colourful destiny in Jesus name, amen.
