Rom 8 verse 12-13 ‘Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if we live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.’

As a believer, one of the significant battles that you will fight in your life is the battle over your flesh. This battle is not about trying to obtain the victory, but it’s trying to enforce the victory because the victory is already yours in Jesus name, amen. Therefore, precious Child of God, you need to know how to fight from the point of victory based on what Christ has done. This is what our text scripture also emphasizes (Rom8verse 12-13). However, before we look at how to win this Warfare, you need to be aware of certain truths about this enemy called the flesh. In our last lesson, I shared two of such truths with us. Today by his grace, we shall be discussing the remaining basic truths. So without much ado, let’s examine them right away.

TRUTHS ABOUT YOUR FLESH:

3. You are responsible to a great extent for your victory over the flesh. You have to take this initiative. You can’t gain mastery over your flesh without your will or decision. Jb31v1: Dan1v8. Are you ready to take charge?

4. It’s possible to gain mastery over your flesh. You, too, can gain control over your flesh. The people who have done so are not different from you. If they can do it, then you too can. You need to remember that you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. Rom7v24-25: 1Cor 15v57

5. The flesh is a limiter. Yes, this is what the flesh does. It’s a stumbling block on your way. It won’t allow you to do the things you ought to do. This is why someone controlled by the flesh cannot do the will of God. This is why you need to walk in dominion over the flesh so that you can fulfill your colorful destiny. Matt26v41: Gal5v17

6. Some people are winning the warfare over the flesh, while some are losing the battle. So which category do you belong to? We are not all on the same level when it comes to gaining mastery over the Flesh. But the good thing is that you can determine if you want to be a Winner or not. I’m sure you want to win and winning you will in Jesus name amen. Rom14v22

7. The greater your mastery over your flesh, the greater your effectiveness as a believer. This simply means that you will become stronger and more useful as a believer when you grow in your mastery over the works of the flesh. 2tim2v21

This is actually good news and it’s evidently one of the benefits of walking in dominion over your flesh. So it’s time to get busy putting your flesh where it belongs. Glory be to God! I see you walking in victory over your flesh.

Prayer for Today: Father, I claim my victory over the works of the Flesh in Jesus name amen.

CONFESSION: Victory is mine in Jesus name. I have victory over the works of the flesh. Glory be to God am no longer a slave! I am liberated! I’m no longer under bondage! I’m free to serve my master and saviour! I walk in the realm of complete dominion over my flesh from henceforth in Jesus name, amen.
