Eccle.10v19: A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes merry; but money answers everything.

I am super excited about this series of lessons because we will be talking about one of the most common challenges of man and that is money. Financial freedom is something that needs to be a reality in your life. As you can see from our text scripture in (Ecclesiastes 10 verse 19) that money is required in order to have a feast or wine. If you look at this scripture in another translation you will see what I mean:

  • “Feasting makes you happy and Wine cheers you up but you can’t have either without Money”- Good News Version.

Financial Freedom is therefore a necessity in someone’s life. So what is financial Freedom? It’s having more than enough money (either in savings, investments, or cash) to afford the kind of life you want to live. It’s a life of not being under pressure financially. It’s a stress-free life financially speaking. The reality is that most people live a life of financial pressure. This ought not to be so because God’s will is for you not to be under any form of negative pressure. So how can you achieve Financial Freedom? This is what this series of teachings are all about. It’s possible to be financially Independent. It’s something you can master and even develop. I pray for you today that this series of lessons will change your life forever in Jesus name, amen. So how do you go about it?

ACHIEVING FINANCIAL FREEDOM:

1. By changing your mentality about money. Yes, this is one of the major ways of achieving Financial Freedom. You can’t attract money if you have a wrong mentality or way of thinking about money. The way you think about money affects you either positively or negatively. Your thoughts are very powerful (Pro.23v4). In case you don’t know, your thoughts are powerful messengers. You communicate signals via your thoughts. So what kind of signals are you sending out to the universe? The kind of thoughts you are sending will determine whether the money will come to you or not. This is why the scriptures admonish you to take your thought life very seriously. My dear brothers and sisters, in order to achieve financial freedom there are some common negative mentalities you need to deal with and some of these thoughts are as follows:

i. Money is evil. This is not true because money is neither good nor evil. It just depends on the purpose for which you use it. Money is a neutral thing. It just takes up the identity of who uses or owns it. In fact, some people even religiously say it’s in the Bible and this is not so. Instead what the bible says is that the love of money is the root of all evil, not money is the root of all evil. I hope you can see the difference. So stop having the mentality that Money is evil otherwise you might never achieve financial Freedom (1Tim.6v10).

ii. You are not worthy or qualified to have money. This is one of the fallacies about money that you need to deal with if you want to be financially independent. Stop thinking that you are not worthy to have money. You have been made worthy by the blood of Jesus. So stop thinking like this rather begin to think like someone who is qualified to receive his bountiful blessings of God (2Cor.8v9).

iii. You are destined to be poor. This is a lie from the pit of hell that you need to deal with if you want to attain financial freedom. You were not made or born to be poor. I know it’s possible to be born in a poor environment or even born into poverty but that does not mean you will never have money. There are countless stories of people who have risen from rags to riches. And if God can do it for them, It also means he can do it for you too for he is no respecter of persons but of faith (Rom.10v12; Ps.113v7-8). So stop thinking like a poor man because you can never be greater than your thoughts. If you think broke, you will be broke and if you think rich or blessed, you will be rich or blessed. So it’s time to start dealing with every preconceived notion or thought that’s contrary to God’s will and purpose for your life.

My dear reader, it’s time to take charge of your thoughts. It’s time to have dominion over every contrary mentality to your Financial Freedom. May your Dominion Start Now!
