(Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand)

Today, I will be sharing with you a series of lessons on “Fear Not.” Is it really possible not to live in fear? The answer is ‘yes’ even though we live in a fearful world. It’s possible to live above fear. It’s very apparent from God’s message through Prophet Isaiah that God wants Israel not to fear as we can see in (Isaiah 41:10). The same is also true concerning us too. God wants you to fearless and not fearful (Luke 1:74-75). It’s possible to defeat or overcome fear. Interestingly, the phrase ‘Fear Not’ appears 74 times and ‘be not afraid’ appears 29 times in the King James Version of the Bible. I believe the reason for this is for you to know God’s stand concerning fear.

So when God says fear not, what does it really mean? It means the following:

i. Do not yield or succumb to fear. This simply means that God does not want you to give in to your fears. That means you can say ‘no’ to fear. You can resist and renounce fear. Therefore, fear should no longer dominate and control your life. Glory be to God; you need to know that you can choose not to yield to fear. You are not at the mercy of fear anymore. Precious child of God, this is exceedingly great news because the power to say ‘no’ to your fear is at your disposal. The time has come to stop yielding to your fears! (Job 3:25-26).

ii. Do not allow fear to dominate you. Fear can dominate if you allow it but for those who resist their fears, fear has no power over their lives. It is true that the feelings or spirit of fear will come against you but you can choose to respond in the right way. This power have you received of the Lord, so begin to exercise it from today (Psalm 56:3).

iii. God does not want you to live in fear. He does not want fear to control your life instead he wants you to dominate your fears. This is why He says ‘fear not.’ You need to see this admonition as God’s will for your life (Isaiah 41:13-14).

My dear reader, it’s time to stop yielding to your fears. It’s time for you to gain control of your fears. May today mark the beginning of such an encounter in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I have nothing to do with fear. Therefore, I renounce and resist every spirit and feeling of fear. I choose faith over fear. For fear is a foe and not a friend. I stand in opposition against every form of fear in my life. Henceforth, I refuse to tolerate fear. I say ‘no’ to my fears and ‘yes’ to faith.
