Lk. 18 v 1: Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.

I do hope and believe that this series on developing your prayer life is greatly enriching your prayer life. This is one of the primary goals of this series of teachings and I pray that this will be your testimony also in Jesus name, amen. I have been sharing with you the tools that will help you develop your prayer life and today, by His grace, I will be talking about another essential key to improving your prayer life which is:

How to develop your prayer life?

4. Praying with other people. I have discovered from scriptures and personal experience that praying with others helps you to develop a vibrant prayer life. It’s just like the scriptures says in (Pro.27v17): “iron sharpens iron! So does a man sharpen the countenance of his friend.” It’s good to pray alone but there is also a greater blessing in praying with others. This is clearly illustrated over and over in the Bible especially in the early church as you can see in the following scriptures (Acts 2v42: 4v23). However, in order to be successful in praying with others, it’s important:

1. To choose your company wisely i.e. pray with people who have grace in the area of praying (Acts 1v13-14).
2. To pray with one accord i.e. pray with one mind or with people of the same mind or harmony (Matt.18v19). This condition enables you to bring forth results in praying with others.

My dear reader, how does praying with other people develop your prayer life? It does so by:

• Enlarging your capacity to pray. This is similar to what we see in the principle of yoking experienced animals (i.e. oxen) with an inexperienced animal. By praying with other people, you are boosting your capacity to pray because you become like those you closely associate yourself with (Jer.12v5). It’s time for your capacity to pray to go to another dimension.
• Receiving the anointing to pray. There is an anointing to pray and praying with others makes you a partaker of this grace. Anointing rubs off on people by influence, environment, or association. By praying with others, you become a partaker of the cooperate anointing of prayer. This is why you can’t allow the opportunity of developing your prayer life to slip by you. It’s time to take seriously prayer meetings and other avenues of praying together from henceforth (1Cor.14v32). Glory be to God, for I can see a new mantle falling on your prayer life!
