Lk.18v1: Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.

Your prayer life is of great importance to you and to God. This is why you need to improve and develop your prayer life. You ought to be getting better and stronger in your prayer life. This has been the focus of this series of teachings and I really pray for a mighty turnaround in your prayer life. In our last lesson, I shared on relying on the Holy Spirit as a versatile tool in developing your prayer and also how the comforter comes to our help in the place of prayer. I intend, by His grace today, to conclude how the Holy Spirit helps us in the place of prayer.

The Holy Spirit helps you to pray by:

  • Helping you to persevere in the place of prayers. There is a tendency to quit or give up in the place of prayer naturally speaking but the presence of the Holy Spirit will help you to persist and prevail in your prayer life. Glory be to God for the Holy Spirit will turn you into a prevailer and not a quitter. This is why you should depend on him in your prayer life (Eph.6v18).
  • Helping you to get the most out of your prayer time. The help of the comforter makes your prayer time worthwhile and productive. You get to the place where you are no longer laboring or toiling in vain. This is what depends on what the Holy Spirit does to your prayer time. My dear friends, I can see the days of fruitless efforts coming to an end in your prayer life (Gal.5v18).
  • Leading you in your prayer life. The Holy Spirit is also a faithful guide and leader and one way he develops your prayer life is by leading you in the way to go in your prayer time, thus enabling you for greater effectiveness in your prayer time. It’s time for you to surrender yourself to the Holy Spirit for wherever he leads, you will find strength and victory in Jesus Christ (Rom.8v14).

Precious child of God, I want to encourage you to fully depend on the help of the Holy Spirit in your prayer life. It’s time to cooperate and walk with him. Stop resisting or grieving him but allow him to lead you into a more productive and effective prayer life. I pray that this will be your testimony from henceforth in Jesus name, amen.
