(Psalm 66:16-17: Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul. I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue)

I have been talking about the significance of counting your blessing in this series of lessons and our focus in today’s discourse will be centered on the power of counting your blessings. There is power in counting your blessings and the earlier you realize this, the better for you. So, what kind of power lies in counting your blessings?

i. The power of multiplying your blessings. Counting your blessings amplifies your blessings. By this, I mean it multiplies or increases your blessings. I believe that nearly everybody would want an increase in their blessings. Well, the way to do this is by counting your blessings. When gratitude goes up, your blessings also increase. Glory! Hallelujah to his name (Matthew 14:19-20).
ii. The power to change your perspective. Counting your blessings helps you to see things in a better light. It helps you to see what the Lord has really done. Most of the time, when people say there is nothing to be thankful for, it’s because they are blind and can’t see vividly what the Lord has done. Can you see God’s faithfulness at work in your life? (Judges 6:-11-14).
iii. The power to change your life. Counting your blessings will change your life forever. How does this happen?

  • By changing your person. David’s life never remained the same as a result of counting his blessings. His attitude, character, personality et cetera. so much changed as a result of being a praise-giver and worshipper (2 Samuel 23:1).
  • By changing your results. Little becomes much with gratitude. The kind of results the disciples got in Matthew 15:36-37 was because of the power of counting blessings. Are you ready to experience a different kind of result?
  • By changing your story. Counting your blessings will change the narrative of your life as it did for others too if you will only embrace this habit and culture (Luke 17:17-19).

I can see everything turning around for your good from today as you embrace the power of counting your blessings.

Prayer for Today: I acknowledge and appropriate the power of counting my blessings. I receive, by faith, the totality of the blessings of counting my blessings in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: There is power in counting my blessings and I choose to be a counter and not a complainer. I choose to focus on my success and not on my struggles. I focus on my favors and not on my frustrations. I focus on the positives and not the negatives. I focus on where I am going and not on what I am going through. I know that whatever I am going through today is subject to change for the better, so I rejoice in the Lord my God, knowing fully well that all things will work together for my good. Hallelujah!
