Numbers 13 verse 31-33 ‘But the men that went up with him said, we be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, the land through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers and so we were in their sight’.

Dearly beloved, part of the area of our lives that God wants to bring about a change is in the way we see ourselves. How do you see yourself? Most people see themselves from a position of weakness, not strength or in the negative light and not the positive light. When you look at our text scripture (Num13v31-33) it’s very obvious that these ten spies, apart from Caleb and Joshua, saw themselves as grasshoppers instead of giant killers and this is why they ultimately perished in the wilderness. So how you see yourself matters a lot. In fact, God is interested in how you see yourself. What you see is, therefore, important to God. (Jer1v11,13 ;24v3). This is why you need to change the way you see yourself. Stop seeing yourself from a negative point of view. Start seeing yourself from a positive angle. By the way, what do we mean by how you see yourself? It simply means your Mentality, Viewpoint, Perspective, Mindset, Self-Image, the picture on the inside, Beliefs, e.t.c.

Precious Child of God, why do you need to pay attention to how you see yourself? It’s important because of the following reasons:

1. It will determine who or what you become. This is why you need to pay attention to the way you see yourself because you are a product of your mentality. You become what you think about most of the time. So what are you thinking about? Are you seeing yourself as a winner or loser? A Victor or a Victim, and a conqueror or a defeated person? Are you proud of the person you are becoming? The truth of the matter is that you can’t be greater than how you see yourself! You can’t rise above the way you see yourself! So stop the negative thoughts now! Take on the mindset of Christ that you are! May that transition begins today. Pro23v7.

2. It will determine how far you will go. Your perception determines your placement and position in life i.e. whether you will come first, second or last. Those who go far see themselves in the right perspective. This also accounts for why the ten spies didn’t go very far because they saw themselves from a defeated point of view and not a victorious point of view. Num13v33. So stop shooting yourself in the leg. Start seeing yourself from the right angle from today. Embrace in totality which you really are in Christ so that you can begin to walk upon your high places in Jesus name amen.
