Genesis 32verse24, 26-28, 30 ‘V24And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. V26-And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. V27-And he said unto him, what is thy name? And he said, Jacob. V28-And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. V30And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.’
There are different kinds of encounters with God and my focus today is on the encounters that lead to a change of story. That is the kind of encounter that Jacob had in our text scripture (Genesis 32v24, 26-28, 30). He had an encounter that changed his story forever. How do we know this? We know this because of the following things that happened to him:
-His Testimony changed for the better.
-His Song also changed for the better.
-His Experience also changed for the better.
-His Mindset or perspective also changed forever.
-His life also changed forever.
These are just some of the evidence of a change of stories encounters. My dearly beloved ones, it is important for you to know that God is still very much in the business of changing the stories of his children. He can give you a change of story encounter in any area of your life that you need spiritually, emotionally, physically, materially, professionally, relationally, academically or any other area of life. He is the same God Rom10v12.He has not changed. Mal3v6. If he did it in the lives of the following people that I am about to mention, I know he will do much more for you because we are under a better covenant! Glory be to God! I want you to prayerfully consider the change of stories encounters in the following people’s lives:
-Hannah at Shiloh. 1Sam1v1-17
-Saul with Prophet Samuel. 1Sam10v1-12
-Blind Bartimeaus and Jesus. Mk10v46-52
-Moses at the Burning Bush in the Wilderness. Exo3& 4
One thing is sure and common to all of these people: Their stories changed as a result of the encounters that they had. I make bold to also declare today that your own story, too can change forever if you will cooperate with God in birthing his purpose in your life. So are you ready for a change of story encounter? I believe that you are! So therefore, I decree that:
-Your story will change for the better.
-God with rewrite the story of your life.
