Pro.14 v 1: “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.”

God’s will is for you to have a stronger and better marriage, but it’s important to also realize that you too have a part to play in the process. This is evident also in our text scripture (i.e. Pro. 14 v 1). That is why I have been sharing some of the essential materials that you need to build a successful marriage. By His grace today, I will be talking about the tenth critical material for a solid marriage.

Materials for building stronger marriages:

10. Getting wisdom/sound counsel for your marriage. To succeed in building a stronger marriage, you need sound wisdom and counsel from time to time, especially with regards to dealing with the demands and exigencies of marriage. You need to know where to go in times of need as you don’t know it all. Thank God we are not without help. The wisdom of God is available and accessible to you. His wisdom is more than enough in dealing with any issue in marriage (Pro. 4 v 5, 7).

How and where can you access this wisdom? You can access this wisdom/insight from:

  • The word of God. The word of God is actually the wisdom of God and it has the capacity to make you wise if you will consult it regularly. The word has also been well-tested and proven and it will not let you down (Pro.30v5).
  • The Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God is the source of all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Partnering with him is one of the best things that can happen to your marriage (2Cor.13v14).
  • Books/resource materials. At times, the answers you seek are hidden in a book. This is why you need to seek wisdom and insights from such places if your marriage will be better (Dan.9v2).
  • Seminars/Programmes. Your marriage can also glean wisdom/insights from programs on marriage that will strengthen your relationship.
  • Those who have made a success out of their marriage. Your marriage can also profit immensely from the experience or counsel of those who are making a success out of their marriage. Therefore, let not this opportunity pass you by! (Philip.4v9).

My dear reader, it’s apparent that you can gain valuable insights and wisdom from these things we have shared today. My charge to you is to make hay while the sun shines! I’ll see you at the top!

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, I humble myself in seeking wisdom and sound counsel from the sources you have made available to me. I yield to your wisdom and insights in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I am gaining wisdom and insight for a better marital experience. I am no longer walking in the dark for the wisdom of God is my heritage.
