Pro.31v29: Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.
To one degree or the other, we are involved in one form of service or the other. How are you rendering your service? Your goal should be better service delivery. This was the kind of service that the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31v29 rendered; no wonder her husband poured such encomiums on her in (Proverbs 31v29). I love the way the Good News Translation puts it i.e. “Many women are good wives, but you are the best of them all.” What a commendation and honour. What are people saying about your service? What can God say about your service? Will you be proud of the compliments or comments you will receive? This is why you need to strive at delivering better service in whatsoever you may be doing and this is the essence of this series of lessons (Phil.2v19-22).
What is better service delivery? It can be defined as follows:
- It’s rendering excellent service to God and humanity or improving the quality of service that we render.
- It’s being the best individual you can be among a team.
- Getting services as effectively and quickly as possible to the intended recipient.
- It’s the highest level of care that can be provided to customers (or the people you are meant to serve) within the scope of an organization (Acts 6v1-7).
This is what better service delivery is all about and this should be your goal and aim as someone who is called to serve. My dear reader, I want you to take the time to think and meditate on this definition so as to ask yourself some pertinent questions such as:
- Am I rendering the best possible service?
- How satisfied are the recipients of my service?
- How prompt and effective is the speed of delivery of my service?
The answers you give to these questions will tell to a great extent the kind of service that you are currently rendering. It’s time to up your game. It’s time to upgrade your service. The good thing about upgrading your service is that it’s something that is within your power. So, I charge you today to start making the necessary changes for the better.
