Becoming A Positive Influence 2

Proverbs 4verse18 ‘But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

From our text scripture (proverbs 4verse18), it’s clear that God wants you to have a positive influence in our world and in fact, that influence should get better and better. The word influence is interesting and means the following:
-The effect of something on a person, thing or event.
-Power to sway (the power that somebody has to effect other people’s thinking, and actions by means of argument, example or force of personality)
-The ability to get things done or executed .2Ki4v12-13
These are just some dimensions of what influence is all about. However, the focus of our discussion today will be on how to make a positive impact in our world. Yes, you have influence but how can you make it work for you? This is going to constitute the basis of our discussion. To make a positive impact in our world you need:

1. To start where you are. Greatness starts in a little way. You also need to remember that Rome was not built in a day. So stop waiting for perfect conditions. Just start right where you are today. This is how to make a positive impact and also how to grow your influence in our world. So the big question to ask yourself today is, where are you now? You might not like where you are today but where you used to be. My dear reader, you change the world one day at a time, one step at a time, one person at a time and one moment at a time. So wherever you are today, make sure you are making a positive difference. You see this principle at work in Joseph’s life. He made an impact everywhere he was:
-At Potiphar’s house (as a slave)
-At the King’s Prison (solving the problem of the chief baker and butler)
-At the Palace (solving the problem of the King or nation)
You, too, can make a positive influence right where you are. So stop occupying space! Make your life count! Be a solution provider as you do this, the King of Glory will definitely shine on you and your work will speak for you!
