Acts 1v8: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Dearly beloved, it’s apparent from (Acts1v8) that one of the major reasons for God empowering us is to be His powerful witnesses. We ought to be His representatives in deed and in truth and the way we do this is by our lives positively changing and affecting others. So far in this series, I have shared 3 powerful means of affecting lives for the better. Today, I will go a step further.

How to affect people’s lives positively?

4. By using what God has given you to serve your generation. Everybody has got one thing or the other that they can use to positively touch lives and change things for the better. Nobody is useless or worthless as God created everyone with value! You have gifts, talents, abilities, potential and skills. These are powerful tools through which you can be a great witness for God in your generation (Eph.4v7). What are you doing with what you have? Are you hiding or deploying what you have? Have you buried or are you using what you have? This is where the challenge is i.e. what you are doing with it!

My dear reader, what you have is not for decoration but to be a blessing to your world. The way this can happen is to start using what you have to minister to your generation. This is how to be a living witness. It’s time to use what you have to bless your generation. Therefore, you need to:

  • Find a place where you can serve with your gifts, talents/abilities.
  • Put your gifts, abilities and talents to use. Stop being idle. Be proactive.

Service is the pathway to greatness; so, find a place to serve. Serve in a noble cause. Serve others. Serve the purpose of God (Matt.20v26-28). Are you ready to start making a difference? Are you willing to use what you have? I have good news for you today. When you start using what you have to serve, you will notice the following trends:

  • You will become a better person i.e. you change as a person.
  • You will become better at what you are doing i.e. you become exceptional.
  • You will begin to grow in value.

Are you sure you are ready for such kind of transformation? Start putting to work what you have!

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, I commit myself to using what you have given me for your glory and honor in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I live for His glory and not for myself. My greatest joy is to be a blessing to others. I serve humanity with my gifts and talents. I serve my generation with my abilities and potential. I use what I have for His praise and glory. Through what I have, I bring joy and melody to my world. My world is becoming better because I deploy what I have. I take delight in service and as I serve His name. He is being glorified in my life in Jesus name, amen.
