Col.2v6-7: As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

You are welcome back to our discussion on Amplifying Your Gratitude. Yes, this is one area of your life that you need to pay attention to. It’s the area of your life that you need to seriously grow up. Our capacity to show gratitude should actually be on the increase. This is why this series of teachings is coming your way and I trust that you have been greatly blessed by the things we have shared so far. Today, I want to go a step further by sharing with you certain truths or observations I have noticed about Gratitude. I believe you are ready for this, so without much ado, let’s examine these truths right away.

TRUTHS ABOUT GRATITUDE:

1. Gratitude is the highest form of prayer. Yes, when you give thanks, you are actually praying and in fact, you are engaging the highest dimension of prayer that is available. This is why it’s important for you to do whatever you are doing very well. Stop thanking God anyhow rather let the whole of your being be involved in expressing your gratitude to God (Philp.4v6-7).

2. We don’t show gratitude enough to God. This is one of the infirmities of man but we can do better as a believer. There is no duty that is more urgent than that of Thanks. So, my dear reader, it’s time to grow in your capacity to give Thanks. You need to stop taking God for granted. Don’t be like the 9 lepers who did not come back to show gratitude to God. It’s time to take your gratitude to another level (Ps.106v13; Lk.17v17).

3. Our requests seem to be more than our Gratitude. This is one of the major discoveries that I have found out people generally spend more time praying to God about things instead of Thanking God more. In fact, your gratitude should exceed your requests or prayers. This is the way to live and living like this will change your life forever (Col.4v2). My dear brothers and sisters, it’s time for you to reverse the order, let your gratitude be more than your requests. In this way, you will see the dimensions of God that you have never seen.

4. Gratitude is a debt that you can never pay back. This is why you will be forever indebted forever to God in gratitude. Thanksgiving is a debt that you will need to continually service the rest of your days (2Thess.2v13). So make no mistake about this, Precious Child of God that you owe God your Thanks. When you begin to see Thanksgiving from this kind of dimension, you will also begin to see the wonders of his Praise.

5. Not everyone knows how to show gratitude to God. This is why there is a place for teaching. Through teaching and instructions, your eyes of understanding can be opened and enlightened. As you receive the revelation and wisdom of God today, your capacity to show gratitude goes to another level. The blessed Holy Spirit is very much available and interested in helping you to know how to give thanks to the Almighty God (Ps.29v1-2).

My dear reader, your life is about to change for the better, like my life too changed when you are willing to be taught and impacted by God. I want you to know that whatever you give thanks for will never die or Diminish. This will be your lot and testimony from today in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
