Ecclesiastes 3verse1 ‘To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:’
There is a time for everything. And this is what our text scripture (Ecclesiastes 3verse1) is talking about! Among such a time is a time of taking stock! You need to have time to take stock of your life. And what is the time for taking stock? It is a time of analysis, evaluation or ruminating over what has happened so far. It is also a time of reflection or examination! Life is not supposed to be lived anyhow but to be lived in seasons. 2Cor13v5
And by the way, why do you need to take stock? You need to take stock because of the following reasons:
1. To access your performance. You need to take stock to know whether you have achieved your goals and objectives or not! This is why taking stock is very important. Without taking stock, you won’t be able to know what you have achieved or not! So, my dear reader, it’s time to take stock of your life and the year too. Gal5v7
2. To know the things that went wrong. Taking stock will help you to identify the areas of shortcomings, pitfalls, disappointments and failures. This is very important in the journey of success and you can gain a lot of wisdom from the things that didn’t work. And moreover, if you don’t repeat the same mistakes repeatedly, you need to take stock of things. So, my dear brothers and sisters, I believe you can now see why taking stock regularly is important. Pro4v5, 7.
3. To know the things that you need to work on. Taking stock helps you to know the areas that you need to give your attention and focus. This is one of the important reasons you need to take stock because it helps you know the areas that need improvement in your life. And if you will be brutally honest with yourself, this wisdom will serve so well in pursuing your destiny and purpose! So my dear reader the earlier you give attention to stock taking the better for you! Pro24v30-34.
My dear friends, it is time for you to start paying attention to this important assignment because it is dangerous for you to live an unexamined life. So start paying attention to taking stock. Start taking stock of your life, resources, relationships, and walk with God! As you do this faithfully, you will notice a significant improvement in the quality of your life!
