Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJV)That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Everyone seeks to be better, but becoming better does not happen by accident or by coincidence. There are steps or procedures in becoming a better You! As you can see from our text scripture, there is a process for becoming a better you (i.e., you take care of the old man, be renewed in the spirit of your mind and put on the new man). It’s just like the butterfly; before it emerges as a butterfly, it has to go through the four stages (i.e. egg -larva-pupa-imago). In the same vain, you won’t just arrive at the destination of a better you just like that. You have to go through certain processes and procedures if a better You will emerge. So how can you experience a better you? What are the steps and processes you need to pass through?

PROCEDURE FOR REAL CHANGE:

1. Surrender your life to Christ. I know this is something that may sound too elementary, but it’s one of the keys to experiencing a real and permanent change in our lives. A better you start by surrendering your life to Christ. So, have you surrendered your life to Jesus? This is one of the basic and fundamental keys to real transformation. If you have not yet done so it’s time to make that change. 2cor5v17.

2. By embracing the word of God in its totality. Nothing changes a man other than the word of God. God’s word is a life saver and change agent. This is why the more you embrace the truths of God’s Word, the greater the transformation that you will see in your life. Once you get saved, the next major thing is to start seeing yourself the way God sees you and also by walking according to who you are in Christ. This is not something that happens overnight but over time.  Dear reader, the more you feed and dwell in the word, the more you see yourself through the eyes of the word, and what you believe goes a long way in shaping your life. So my charge to you today is to start accepting the truths of God’s word about you and also to believe them with the whole of your heart. Heb4v12: Eph4v23; 5v26

3. By crying to God to help you. To experience real and total transformation, you need God’s help and intervention. God is willing to help you if you are sincere with yourself and always cry out to him for help.  God’s power is unlimited, and he can make you strong where you are weak. The only way you achieve this is by sincerely crying out to God. Dearly beloved, if you cry out unto God in your greatest area of struggle, he will come to your aid and rescue you. God’s power will prevail against every other power that you may be contending against. 1Chro4v9-10

A new you will emerge beginning from today, as you cooperate with the process of real change in Jesus name amen. If you really believe this, say a big AMEN.
