Jude 1 v 20: But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

I believe that you have been enjoying this series on praying in tongues. There are many benefits and advantages to be derived from praying or speaking in tongues, and I have shared so far four of these benefits with you. This simply means that praying in tongues is good for you as a believer as it does add a lot of value to your life. Again, our discussion’s focus will be on more benefits that you can get from speaking in tongues. I am confident that you will never be the same again as we look at these treasures today.

REASONS FOR PRAYING IN TONGUES:

1. Because It opens you to a limitless or unlimited dimension of possibilities and opportunities. This is why it’s so crucial for you to exercise yourself in this dimension of prayer. Only praying in the Spirit can afford you this golden opportunity as praying in understanding is limited. What I mean by this is there is a limit to how far you can commune with God in your natural or native language but praying in tongues offers greater access in this regard. This is why you need to pray in the Spirit often so that you can come up to this level of prayer (Rom. 8 v 26-27). So my dear reader, allow the Holy Spirit to strengthen you in the place of prayer. Let him help you take care of every feebleness of the mind and body as you cultivate and develop the habit of praying in tongues.
   
2. So that you can be an effective witness of Jesus Christ. An effective witness of Jesus Christ is one that is fruitful in his or her Christian walk and life. If you really want to be successful in representing God here on earth, you need the help of the Holy Spirit. As human beings, we are characterized by certain infirmities, fears, and frailties. But thanks be to God we have a great Helper and Teacher in the Holy Spirit. As you learn to pray in tongues, it will instill and stir up the courage and boldness of Christ in you. Speaking in tongues activates the power of God within you. It puts that power to work. You cannot serve God effectively without his power, and praying in tongues is your access to a world of fruitfulness and great proofs in all your endeavors. So, my dear reader, it’s time to awaken the sleeping Giant in you by praying in tongues (Acts 4 v 29, 31). Will you do so today?

Prayer for Today: Holy Spirit, I seek for a richer and fuller encounter with you in my prayer life beginning from today in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: Praying in tongues opens me up to a rich and fulfilling life in my prayer life. My prayer life can never remain the same again because I am drawing power and strength from the Holy Spirit. Limits and shackles are being broken in my prayer life. I am mounting up to new heights and dimensions in my prayer life. It’s a new beginning for me, for I am being changed from glory to glory in Jesus name, amen.
