2Cor.13v5: Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless indeed you are disqualified.

Precious child of the most high, there are a lot of dividends, gains and benefits in stocktaking. This is why you ought to imbibe the culture of taking stock into your life and operations. Our text scripture in 2Cor.13v5 goes further to confirm the need and importance of taking stock. What kind of advantages can you derive from taking stock?

THE BENEFITS OF STOCKTAKING:

1. It helps you to know the true state of things. You know, at times the way things look on the surface is not how it looks on the inside. When you begin to take stock, you will be able to know if you are making profit or loss and if things are okay or not, et cetera. This is one of the advantages of taking stock that you need to seize if you want to make a success out of life. So, it’s time to put premium on stocktaking.
2. It helps you to know and identify your stand i.e. where you are now. My dear reader, where are you now with regards to your goals, visions, works, et cetera. Are you standing or falling? Are you strong or weak? Where are you now vis-viz where you said you will be or ought to be? If you don’t take stock, you won’t know where you are or your position. It’s time for you to start taking stock of your life and things generally (Gen.3v9).
3. It helps you to know whether you are going forward or not. This is one of the great advantages of taking stock because it helps you to know your level of progress and development. Taking stock helps you to ascertain whether you are increasing, static or diminishing. So to know if you are really making progress, take stock regularly. Are you ready to take inventory of your life? As they say, facts and figures don’t lie; make up your mind that you will begin to take stocktaking seriously (Ps.84v7).
